Usable documentation is an essential deliverable as part of any project, if it is to have a useful life in production.
It is often the case that insufficient or inadequate documentation can result in too high a dependency on a vendor or integrator once the project is live. This leads to unnecessary costs and an inability to truly exploit the system.
RedShift offer several types of documentation, each tailored exactly to the needs of the installation in question. For example:
- Help files – we can offer tailored help files relating to the rolled out system. These differ from vendor provided “out the box” help files, which are written on a generic basis. Instead they reflect the processes and configuration of the organisation in question, and are business process oriented rather than system oriented.
- Support documentation – we offer tailored support documentation that reflects the precise technical setup of the client in question.
In each case we can maintain the document on an ongoing basis if there are changes at the installation in question. Alternatively, we can provide instructions on how our clients can maintain the documentation themselves, permitting full independence after go live. |
